Vilene Boning and Interior Hem

This shows part of front and side panel. The boning casing is shown on the front going straight across. You can see the inner layer of vilene trimmed so not to catch in seams On the side panel the inner layer is trimmed just short of the fold line. The boning is stopped a little back from this to allow for a good crease. The top will be the same Cut a triangle wedge in the seam allowance at the fold line. To give a neat hem on the skirt hand stitch the seam allowance up to the vilene. Pull an extra 1/8" up to the inside. Long stitches ( 1") are good . Trim extra off at the seam intersections to reduce bulk.c metus
